My name is Jeff Garton. I had a traumatic brain injury (TBI) 7 years ago at work. I have come from not being able to roll over in a bed to normal walking with no assistance and regained all my strength. I have had many therapists, physical therapists to be more exact, none have been like Donna. Being herself and with her education, I was told that she is exceedingly rare in the Savannah area. She’s a very caring, polite, intelligent, compassionate, and understanding young woman. I personally feel that she is the first therapist to truly understand me and my condition and she has been able to use that in my recovery process. I can say without a doubt that I would not be where I am today without her help. My journey through my recovery is not finished, and with her continued help I will be able to meet many more recovery achievements. I’ve seen and been around her working with other patients and heard directly from them that she is exceptional and quite good at her job. Maybe that’s because she takes each case beyond a work experience and reaches into the soul and connecting with each patient. I am a nobody in the medical field, but I have been on every patient side there is. I highly recommend her and suggest that at the least you reach out and talk with her about your condition and your reservations.
Recommended by my doctor, I have been a patient of Ms. McMahan for the past three years in Savannah to treat a neurological problem with my legs. I could not walk. Starting in a wheelchair, I graduated to a walker in due course and can now walk with a cane for some distance. It has taken effort, but I attribute my significant progress to Donna, who, through her knowledge, skill, and encouragement, got me to this point that I did not expect to see.
Donna has a positive attitude and is a delightful person. She is dedicated to her patients and her profession and wants them to succeed.
Donna entered our lives in the summer of 2015 working with my husband, Gary, after he was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome following a stroke. GBS had taken away all of his movements except for a small amount on the right side. The benefits of his rehab with Donna came from her knowledge of working with neurologically impaired patients. Rehabilitation is not easy! She coached him, encouraged him, and gave him the confidence he needed to move. Her professional drive improved him not only physically, but also mentally. She has a way of building a trusting relationship with her patients and the family. This relationship is important for the rehab to be effective. She got us through some hard days. We will never forget our time spent with Donna! ~ Gary and Janie
